Measuring Guide

We offer a wide variety of sizes to choose from.  Please follow our measurement guidelines so your new curtains will look their best.   Sizes: All our curtain sizes listed in our curtain store include both left and right curtain panels in the width except patio door curtains and door panels which are sized per individual panel.   Width: Measure the width of your window as shown above. If you are going to use Continental curtain rods, add an additional 6" to the width of your window to account for the 6" return on each side of the rod that needs to be covered. Tie-back curtains need extra fullness for the pleats: Order curtains 4 to 5 times larger than the width of the window (+ 6" for Continental rods) rounded to the nearest 100". Straight Valances and Austrian Valances count as 100" each. Always round up to an odd number of Austrian Valances for a better look. Country Pouff Valances count as 200" each. Example: Window width = 71" *5 (for more fullness)=355".  Round your window up to 400".  So you could order a 400" wide Tie-back curtain, or a 200" wide Tie-back curtain with 2 Austrian Valances, or a 200" wide Tie-back curtain with 1 Country Pouff. Swag curtains: Order curtains 2 to 3 times larger than the width of the window (+ 6" for Continental rods) rounded to the nearest available size. Straight Valances and Austrian Valances count as 20" each. Always round up to an odd number of Austrian Valances for a better look. Example 1: Window width (+ 6" for Continental Rod) = 37" *3=111".  So you could order a 90" wide Swag, or a 90" wide swag with 1 Austrian Valance, or just a 135" swag. Example 2: Window width = 65" *3=195".  So you could order a 90" wide Swag with 3 Austrian Valances, or a 135" wide Swag with 2 Straight Valances. Valances only: Order Valances 4 to 5 times larger than the width of the window (+ 6" for Continental rods) rounded to the nearest 100". Straight Valances and Austrian Valances count as 100" each. Always round up to an odd number of Austrian Valances for a better look. Country Pouff Valances count as 200" each. Example: Window width = 71" *5 (for more fullness)=355".  Round up to 400".  So you would order 4 Straight Valances, or 4 Austrian Valances, or 2 Country Pouff Valances.   Length: Decide if you want window length or floor length curtains. Measure the length you want for your curtains. For window length curtains, round up to the next available size.
